DIY Dry Shampoo

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Arrowroot Powder -3 tsp Baking Soda
  • 7 drops Peppermint EO
  • Cocoa (for darker hair-as much as needed)
  • For blondes - I would suggest simply omitting the cocoa. You can also use cornstarch instead of arrowroot powder (I prefer arrowroot).

Instructions:

  • Mix or shake all ingredients in a glass container. Stainless steel containers work fine too, I prefer glass because you can see through them.

This recipe is extremely affordable (under 2$). It’s much much more economical to make your own rather than buy some in the store. Chances are the store bought is filled with harmful ingredients, so it’s a win-win.

You can store this in any glass container. An old jar of jam or pickles works just fine (you can easily double or triple this recipe if needed). I use mini mason jars. I use to poke holes in the top of my mason jars, but I found this super convenient lid at @cramptonsmarket the other day and I love it as you can keep it closed to keep it fresh and smelling nice.

I used Peppermint Essential Oil because I love Peppermint (it’s my number 1 fav oil) and it blends nicely with the cocoa. It smells so good you seriously wanna eat it. You can use lavender, or both lavender and peppermint. Rosemary is also great for hair, so is Geranium. Use what you prefer!

I simply sprinkle a tiny bit of this on my roots if my whites are showing lol, or I sprinkle it in my hair if it feels greasy and I don’t have time to wash it lol. Once I sprinkle it in I rub it into my hair. Feels great and smells amazing!
